Look at who just arrived at my door today!
I’ve been too busy to buy her anything before she arrived, so she’ll just have to walk around in the buff for a while. I’ll post more later once I have her dressed properly (btw, I suspect that I’ll simply name her Lisa and Evelyn. Those are the heads that I got, and they suit her IMO).
This won’t be a thorough review, but more of a quick, initial impression:
I don’t have pictures or videos of the packing/unpacking, but she was packaged well. Everything looked good upon unboxing. FedEx even did a great job in that the box was in perfect condition, and the doll was just as packed when I opened it up.
At first, I thought I might have made a mistake with the skin tone with the pinkish hue to her skin, but she looks fine now that she is out of the box. Under (indirect) sunlight she looks even better, though that didn’t last long since it’s been overcast and raining most of the day today.
Before I decided on Jiusheng, I had also been considering Irontech and Zelex, and the specific dolls were in the low to mid-80-pound range. I’m glad that I got the Jiusheng, as the weight is more than I had anticipated, but still fairly easily manageable. She is supposed to weigh right at 70 pounds, though I don’t know if that is with or without the head attached. I’ll try to remember to weigh her later and post. I also hope to get a cloth tape measure and see how close she is the dimensions listed by the manufacturer.
The body has great detail (pics later). My favorite part may well be the torso, as she has the detail of a very athletic body. The fingers are articulated, though I haven’t manipulated them much yet as I’ve been fearful of damaging them.
Something that I didn’t notice in the factory or promotional photos, but is very apparent now that she is home, is that the two heads are quite different in size. Lisa is noticeably larger than Evelyn, especially when I had them side by side during unpacking.
One quick mention about the vendor that I went through: I purchased Lisa/Evelyn through RoseMaryDoll (specifically, I was in contact with Sherry at RMD). They were always quick to respond and very helpful. It does look like they might have left out the cleaning indicator, but that is very minor. I highly recommend RMD to anyone thinking of purchasing through them.
